The food we consume acts like the fuel that drives our brain and all our body functions. Any sort of failure to good diet will affect the body’s working and start causing health issues. Do not just eat to satisfy your hunger rather focus on the nutritional value of the food too. Always emphasize on eating healthy foods.

It is a common habit most of us have that whenever we feel hungry, we just rush to the nearest eatery to grab fast foods as it seems the most convenient option. It is not at all a healthy habit as such food items lack the nutrients required by our body and brain in order to work properly.

Avocados are another food item that is great for our brain health. They are rich in monounsaturated fats which improve the blood flow to the entire body including brain. Moreover, they are also helpful in keeping the blood pressure low in the body reducing the risks of serious complications to heart and brain.

Incorporate herbs in your diet; you can eat them in your salads or include in the drinks. Basil and ginseng are basically the most beneficial ones in controlling the production of cortisol, a hormone that causes stress. By including these herbs, you can ensure to keep yourself away from headaches and depression.

If you eat fish on a regular basis then it’s an extremely healthy habit that you have. Especially fish like mackerel, salmon and sardines are good for your brain health as they are a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids. They also make your memory sharp and help fight depression too. But avoid frying your fish instead eat it baked or grilled.

Nothing much can beat eggs when it comes to protein. Eggs constitute a nutrient called choline that is not naturally produced in our body in sufficient amounts. This nutrient is a great agent for reducing inflammation and for enhancing brain health.
